Raise vital funds
For 52 Lives and the School of Kindness, helping to deliver fully funded kindness workshops to children across the UK.
The Great British Skip
We are living in a time where so many people feel disconnected, divided or unseen. But I do not believe kindness has disappeared. I believe it is still everywhere around us — in quiet acts of care, in people showing up for one another, in communities choosing compassion.
What kindness needs now is not reinventing. It needs revealing. It needs sharing. It needs amplifying. That is what The Great British Skip is all about.
I have always believed that kindness is the thread that connects us all. As Captain of Kindness for a UK charity, I have had the privilege of delivering kindness workshops to young people, creating spaces where we explore empathy, connection and the power of small actions. But beyond the workshops, it has also been my adventures across the UK and beyond that have deepened that belief.
Time and time again, I have experienced unexpected kindness from strangers. A helping hand. A word of encouragement. A gesture so simple, yet so powerful, it stays with you long after the moment has passed. Those experiences have reminded me that kindness transcends background, belief and circumstance. It has a unique ability to bring people together.
And right now, that feels more important than ever. So I have decided to put that belief into action.
I am taking on a challenge to skip the length of the UK, covering 900 miles, the equivalent of 35 marathons in 35 days. Not just as a test of endurance, but as a journey to uncover and spotlight stories of kindness from every corner of the country.

Why a skipping rope
It is playful, nostalgic and universal. It brings a sense of curiosity. It makes people smile. It starts conversations. But it is also something more.
This challenge has never been done before. And that is the point. Too often, we stay within the lines of what feels normal, expected or possible. We tell ourselves we have to follow a certain path, be a certain person, live a certain way. I do not believe that.
Just like in a playground, skipping brings people together, breaks down barriers and creates connection. I want this challenge to do the same — a reminder that we do not have to be who we have always been, and that sometimes the most powerful way to spark change is to do something a little unexpected.
The goal
01
For 52 Lives and the School of Kindness, helping to deliver fully funded kindness workshops to children across the UK.
02
To understand that kindness is not just something we talk about, but something we choose, every single day.
03
To uncover stories of kindness throughout the UK
Because if even one child sees this journey and thinks, "I can be that person" — then this has already been worth it.
The journey
A moving story. A shared experience. A journey through the heart of communities across the UK.
Beginning at the southwestern tip of Cornwall, the journey travels through the rolling hills of the Cotswolds, the industrial heartlands of the North, and into the wild, open landscapes of the Scottish Highlands. Each step, each skip, a thread connecting communities across the country.
Covering 26.2 miles per day, the journey will take around 5 weeks to complete. A physical challenge, but also a daily commitment to showing up, connecting and listening.
In every place we pass through, we will be searching for Kindness Champions, the people quietly making a difference, the small businesses giving back, the schools creating cultures of care and showcasing their stories.
Every day, we will document and share these stories with our growing community — proving that kindness is not rare, it is everywhere, if we choose to see it.

The logistics
Behind the scenes, this is a fully supported expedition. With a dedicated crew travelling alongside in a support vehicle, this journey will be powered not just by endurance, but by people.
We will be camping, staying with local hosts and relying on the very kindness we are setting out to uncover. Not just speaking about it. But living it.
Because this challenge is not just about showcasing kindness. It is about experiencing it, together.
Why it matters
It is about showing that kindness exists everywhere. It is about shining a light on ordinary people doing extraordinary things for one another.
And it is about raising vital funds to ensure that children across the UK have access to kindness workshops — spaces where they can learn empathy, compassion and human connection.
Because when we embed kindness into the next generation, we do not just change individual lives. We help shape the future.
And this journey is only the beginning.
